Personal Accident insurance is different from Health Insurance. Health Insurance will cover you for any illness or accident while Personal Accident Insurance will only cover you for accidents. In the event that the insured will suffer an accident or disability. The insurance company will give a cash benefit to the insured or to the beneficiary. Some Personal Accident Insurance policies also have cover for Medical expenses should an accident occur.

The coverage for riding at the back as a passenger in a motorcycle is usually specified in a different section. This amount is usually lower than the insured amount. This will give benefit to the beneficiary if the insured dies as a passenger in a motorcycle accident.

Medical Expenses Benefit

Medical expenses benefit is usually 10% of the insured amount, although some insurance companies have made their own policies that cover more for medical expenses. This coverage will benefit the insured person should an accident result to an injury that requires hospitalization.

2. Submit Copy of Passport with Verified Signature.
3. Pay the Invoice Premium
4. You’re Covered.
5. Original Policy and Card will be delivered to your specified address in 7-10 business days by Registered EMS.

*Some insurance companies require Work Permit and Visa Stamp. Others only require Application form and Passport Copy with Verified Signature.

This depends on what Personal Accident insurance you choose to purchase, but most of our personal accident insurance plans have cover for medical expenses as this is one of the main covers for this type of insurance.

If I get murdered or Assaulted, would I get the full amount specified in the Death and dismemberment benefits ?

There is a specified amount for Murder and Assault on your policy. The insurance company will pay this amount to your beneficiary stated on the policy therefore the stated beneficiary should be your family member and shouldn't be anyone else.

If I’m a passenger in a motorcycle accident, will I be covered?

Yes, most plans have cover for this, however some insurance companies will not have a cover for any passangers riding on the motorbike. Please check and study each plan carefully

Until what age can I renew my Personal Accident Insurance?

Most insurance companies have an age cap when it comes to personal accident insurance, so be sure to ask your agent until when you can renew. This solely depends on what insurance company you choose.

If I die who will get the money?

Your beneficiary will be the one to claim for the money. She/he will have to claim the amount to the insurance company and she/he will be given the amount specified in your policy.

If I’m drunk or under the influence, will I still be covered??

Any accidents that are a result of the insured being negligent (Like Driving under the influence, or doing sports under the influence) will not be covered.

Is there a waiting period?

TNo, unlike Health insurance, there is no waiting period in Personal Accident Insurance.

What is the condition of residence?

Clients applying for personal accident insurance must be residents of Thailand.

Can I visit a hospital of my choosing?

Yes, you are free to choose any medical provider you are comfortable with. However, each insurance company has a network list, if you go to a hospital or clinic that is not on their list you would have to pay first and get reimbursed.

If I apply now, when will I get my documents?

Application process is different for everyone, the process can take longer if you have pre-existing conditions. Application process is 3-4 days and once you sign the offer letter the Card and Policy will be sent to your specified address within 7-10 business days.
